Hostetler Family Homes (formerly Hostetler & Son Builders) has been serving clients in Northeastern Ohio for 36 years.  We build custom homes and remodeling projects in Stark, Summit, Portage, Medina and other surrounding communities ranging in price from $150k to over $1 million. We were founded as a family company and continue to guide our business with the sound family values of integrity, hard work, honesty and respect.  We take great pride in the exceptional homes we establish with our clients and aim to create customers for life through quality craftsmanship and a lasting customer experience.

Our History

Darrell Hostetler and his father, Ervin, began Hostetler Family Homes in 1983 (then known as Hostetler & Son Builders).  The father / son duo brought together 35 years of combined home building experience to serve Northeast Ohio families, sticking to their flagship motto, “We Build the Best & Fix the Rest.”  Darrell & Ervin built new homes and completed remodeling and additions projects for local families, while also operating multiple carpentry crews.  As a result of their customer centric focus and commitment to quality craftsmanship, the business grew and prospered in the following decades with the duo working on up to 200 houses per year.

Darrell’s son, Josh, who grew up climbing job site dirt piles and honing his hammering skills on scrap lumber, made the decision to join the company after obtaining a degree in Business from The Ohio State University.  Josh later obtained his MBA in Finance and holds a Certified Management Accountant designation. Josh is working diligently with his father Darrell to elevate the business and continue their tradition of craftsmanship and excellence into the next generation.
